Mai Abou Hashima

Mai Abou Hashima is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience in strategic marketing, business development, commercial management, and organizational leadership. As Senior Marketing Director & Deputy CCO at MAFI, she is responsible for supporting the company’s commercial strategy, driving marketing initiatives, expanding market opportunities, and contributing to MAFI’s long-term growth objectives.

Mai began her career at the League of Arab States, where she gained valuable experience in regional affairs and institutional collaboration. She later joined SAPESCO Petroleum Services as Strategic Planning Manager, leading business planning initiatives and supporting the company’s strategic development.

She went on to join Egyptian Steel Group, where she held several leadership positions, including Internal Communications Manager, Corporate Services Manager, and HR Senior Manager. Throughout her tenure, she played a key role in supporting business operations, developing organizational capabilities, and contributing to commercial development initiatives that supported the group’s continued growth.

As a member of the founding team of Egyptian Media Group, Mai served as Commercial Executive Director, where she contributed to the group’s commercial growth and business development efforts, helping establish its presence in the Egyptian market.

Prior to joining MAFI, Mai held a leadership role at the Egyptian Industrial Investment Group (EIIG), where she led the evaluation and execution of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic investments. She also played an active role in identifying new business opportunities and supporting the group’s expansion across multiple sectors.

Mai holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science and has completed a Certificate in Business Management from the American University in Cairo, in addition to the Artificial Intelligence Programme at the University of Oxford. She also holds professional certifications in finance, entrepreneurship, and community development.

With extensive leadership experience and a strong background in strategic marketing, business development, and commercial management, Mai continues to support MAFI’s growth ambitions and its vision of becoming a leading global agri-food company.
