Eng. Essam Abu Nour is a veteran industrial strategist and metallurgical engineer, bringing nearly 50 years of invaluable experience to his role as Head of Supply Chain – Projects at MAFI for Agricultural Produce Industries. With a legacy built on decades of leadership in supply chain optimization, procurement, and international logistics, Eng. Essam is a cornerstone of MAFI’s infrastructural foundation and expansion.
A graduate of the prestigious Petroleum and Mining College, Eng. Essam began his career at the forefront of industrial engineering. Over the decades, he has cultivated a unique blend of technical mastery and executive leadership. His deep expertise in metallurgy is complemented by elite training at globally recognized institutions, including Harvard Business School and the Ahmedabad Management Institute, where he completed executive programs for senior Middle East leaders—further enhancing his strategic capabilities.
Prior to MAFI, Eng. Essam served as Commercial Director at Egyptian Steel Group, where he led and integrated complex functions including Purchasing, Warehousing, Logistics, and Insurance for eight transformative years. His visionary leadership was pivotal in driving efficiency, ensuring continuity across supply chains, and supporting the group’s rapid industrial expansion.
Earlier, he spent 25 years at Ezz Steel Group, one of the region’s largest industrial conglomerates, where he held key positions such as Corporate Procurement Manager and Export Manager. There, he developed and executed procurement strategies and managed expansive export operations, earning a reputation for his precision, negotiation acumen, and global market intelligence.
