Amro Hassanin is a distinguished industrial engineer and technical strategist with more than 35 years of hands-on experience spanning multiple high-stakes sectors, including agri-processing, heavy industry, shipbuilding, and metallurgy. As Chief Technical Officer at MAFI for Agricultural Produce Industries, Amro leads the technical transformation of the company, championing innovation, engineering excellence, and operational efficiency across every level of production.
A visionary builder and creator, Amro began his career as a professor at the Faculty of Engineering, where he cultivated a strong foundation in applied industrial sciences. He quickly transitioned into the shipbuilding industry under the Authority of the Suez Canal, where he played a lead role in the execution of two of the world’s largest tugboats—testaments to his early mastery of complex engineering systems and large-scale industrial coordination.
Amro’s technical brilliance was further demonstrated during his tenure at IEMCO Lighting, where he pioneered the automation of the company’s sheet metal plant. His leadership transformed IEMCO into Egypt’s first fully automated operation in the sector, setting a benchmark in local industrial innovation.
Since 1994, Amro has specialized in the iron, steel, and metal industries with a strong focus on industrial design, plant engineering, and technical operations management. His expertise covers the entire project lifecycle—from conceptual design and engineering development to construction, commissioning, and full-scale operations. He has successfully executed 8 Hot Rolling Mills, 5 Melt Shops, and over 25 major industrial upgrades and modifications across Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon.
Renowned for his precision, creative problem-solving, and ability to innovate under pressure, Amro brings unmatched technical depth to MAFI’s industrial strategy. His deep understanding of process optimization, machinery integration, and manufacturing scalability is pivotal to MAFI’s ambition to build the largest agro-processing complex in the Middle East.
