Mohamed Magdy brings over 20 years of distinguished legal expertise to his role as General Counsel at MAFI for Agricultural Produce Industries. As a seasoned legal strategist, he provides comprehensive counsel across the full spectrum of commercial, operational, and regulatory legal matters, ensuring robust legal governance that aligns with MAFI’s ambitious vision for global leadership in the agri-food sector.

Mohamed’s legal career is marked by his ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and navigate complex legal environments across diverse business functions and cultural contexts. Prior to joining MAFI, he held the pivotal role of Group Legal Counsel and Head of the Legal Department at Egyptian Steel Group from 2012. There, he was instrumental in building and institutionalizing the group’s legal function, supporting strategic initiatives including the development and construction of two state-of-the-art mini mills.

In addition to managing the group’s legal portfolio, Mohamed was a key advisor to senior leadership and actively contributed to strategic decision-making as a member of the executive, human resources, and ethics committees. He played a critical role in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of high-stakes commercial contracts and legal documents, helping safeguard the group’s interests across its subsidiaries.

Mohamed’s earlier roles include Legal Counsel at El Sewedy Electric Group, one of the region’s leading energy solutions providers, and Senior Corporate Lawyer at Egyptian Airports Co., where he honed his expertise in corporate and infrastructure-related legal matters.

He holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Cairo University’s Faculty of Law, and his legal acumen is underpinned by a deep understanding of Egypt’s commercial landscape and international legal best practices. At MAFI, Mohamed is a trusted legal steward, committed to supporting the company’s growth while ensuring rigorous compliance, ethical governance, and strategic risk management.
