Sherif El-Etreby is a seasoned finance and investment strategist with 27 years of experience across banking, industrial, and manufacturing sectors. As Chief Strategic Investments Officer at MAFI, he leads the company’s investment portfolio, capital planning, and financial structuring to drive long-term business growth and global market penetration.
Sherif’s career spans a decade in banking, where he developed a strong foundation in corporate finance and investment analysis, followed by 20 years in industrial leadership roles. During his nine-year tenure at Egyptian Steel Group, he was Senior Planning Executive Director, overseeing financial planning and strategic decision-making for the company’s expansion. Simultaneously, he was a key founding member of Egyptian Cement Company, shaping its early investment strategies and business framework.
His previous experience includes pivotal roles at Lafarge, where he was Regional Controller special projects across the Middle East & Africa and before he was Deputy Regional Business Controller for North Africa. He also held a leadership position at Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) as Head of Planning – Cement International Division.
Throughout his career, Sherif has been deeply involved in high-profile acquisitions, mergers, and corporate transactions, including the acquisition of Lafarge to Orascom Construction Industries – Cement Division (2008), the sale of a stake in Egyptian Steel Group to Ezz El-Dekheila Steel Co. (2021) and the divestment of shares in Egyptian Cement Company (2023).
